Cover Changes

Starting with Loviatar no. 11, all covers will be printed on white, 65 lb. cardstock. Reprints of back issues will also be re-skinned. It's become an awful pain to maintain all of the different colors of stock. It's also a bit costlier. Buying white in bulk will shave a few pennies off the printing costs of each issue and that is always a good thing.

Also, white will do a much better job of conveying Jay Penn's awesome art. Jay's work is detailed and sometimes the color of the stock overshadows the finer lines.

Below are some photos of the new issue.

  1. I was considering doing something similar. Keeping to a few simple colors. Looking forward to the next issue.

    1. I think that's a good idea, too. Having just a few, go-to colors would simplify things nicely. :)

  2. I'll miss the variety, but can completely understand the reasoning. Looking forwards to #11.

    1. I agree. This is one of those decisions that makes sense, but I still don't like it.

  3. Hey...as long as Jay Penn's stuff is on the cover and Christian's stuff is inside, I don't care what color the cover is.

Okay, to be honest, I like the colored covers, but if it means saving Christian some money, time, effort, etc. that he can use on content, I'm OK with that reasoning.

    1. I will miss the color covers, too, even if I wasn't sure to do with that pink cardstock I had leftover. ;)

  4. Well, I know I ain't going anywhere any time soon, that's for sure! Christian writes the coolest scenes and makes my job a whole lot easier with his imagery.
