A while back, I wrote 2,500 words about a Ventrue neonate and the Herd he was cultivating. What I liked about the article was the emerging tragedy that resulted from the vampire cruelly manipulating the women. He had the power to improve their lives, but intentionally kept them weak and dependent. After I finished the piece, I realized that I had unintentionally wrote a rather sad depiction of spousal abuse.
However, I scrapped the article. I was worried that Vampire: The Requiem material would turn people off. After reading the comments from yesterday's post, I decided to resurrect it. Like I mentioned yesterday, the primarily OSR readership is remarkably tolerant of new ideas with their "carve off what I need and leave the rest" philosophy. I was also inspired because I arrived home to find the gorgeous Daeva clan book waiting for me. :)
No. 10 will therefore feature Hex 006 and an article that continues the "A Lonely Dance on a Cold, Northern Shore" series. No. 11 will likely be an all Call of Cthulhu issue as I try to establish a starting point for future articles. Hex 007 - the final hex - will be published when my pea brain figures out a way to present the forest realm of Lady Shesayeth in a clever, creative manner.
