Loviatar no. 9 Progress Report: Cover Concept

Copyright Jay Penn, 2012.

The hex crawl is about exploration. To be sure there is geography to be explored, but more importantly there are personalities to be discovered. As a GM I've never felt comfortable beginning a campaign unless I had a dozen or so NPCs ready to go. For me, relationships drive play. With this cover concept, Jay Penn has reduced the Hex 005 down to its core. I love it!

We're looking at a mail date of Monday, April 16. It's going to feel good to get this issue out the door. :)

  3. Now if we could somehow convince Jay to make the NPC Portrait a recurring feature.... Something like the old Dragon Magazine did for a while (PC Portraits). I know I'd love a page of 5-6 NPC portraits (or PC portraits) to use; no stats needed, or even names. Just generic, individual pictures. Hmm....

  4. Hmmm, Indeed! What do you think Christian? I'm game if you are and if we can fit them in...

  5. Perhaps a 'preview portrait' of a character that'll appear in the *next* issue could function as a nice teaser?

  6. I'm pleased that people think I can actually think ahead from one issue to the next. Sadly, I can barely put my shoes on the right feet in the morning. ;)

    3. I've been a miniatures sinner... I'm hoping to get my desk area cleaned up to get back to painting, so ship 'em on over!
