Loviatar no. 8 Progress Report: Badger Cavalry!

Copyright Jay Penn, 2012

The "potato gnomes" are back. As gnomes should, they talk to burrowing mammals, have big noses and wear pointy hats. They also have a bit of an edge to them. Congrats to Jay Penn for yet another stellar effort. The zine would be so much less without his talent.

  1. Freaking Awesome (with a capital A no less!) I love the gnome, the nails just add so much. Greta job Jay!

  2. Jay is freakin' fantastic. It makes me want to start my own 'zine just so I can get some of his artwork.

And then I remember how much time and energy I would need to devote to a 'zine (like Christian and Matt do) and then I curl up with a pint and cry softly.

At least I can rest (somewhat) easy knowing my next issue of Loviatar (complete with Jay's artwork) will be coming soon.

    1. I have been talking a lot with Jay about the workload, especially the management of the back issue sales. I probably spend 3-4 hours a week just folding, stapling, stuffing envelopes, tracking sales, adjusting the ledger, going to Staples and waiting in line at the PO to send out back issues. It's not really a problem, but it does take some time. :)

I hope you enjoy the issue when it arrives!

  3. This looks great. I always enjoy small humanoids on non-traditional mounts. Jay's artwork is very much old school too, which is great.

  5. Jeez, you guys... If my head swells any larger, I'll need to construct some sort of pedastal to rest it on while I draw!
