A Planescape series makes its debut in No. 3. |
While writing this issue I found myself getting frustrated with the stat blocks. I talked about this the other day, but those Vampire: The Requiem stat blocks I wrote last night were really frustrating. I love the WoD, but let's face it: The Storyteller system dresses itself up as a Narrativist game, but there's a heavy Gamist element that requires a fair amount of rules. Three NPCs required four pages of stat blocks.
That's too many.
Moving forward - provided I have the blessing of the zine's readership - I am going to end the "A Lonely Dance on a Cold, Northern Shore" series in favor of something more rules-light. I hope that's okay with all of you.
I'm good with that. I don't have much use for WoD stuff, especially NWod. I'm planning on sticking to just a few games these days, and most of them are either OSR or else pre-1990 or so.
ReplyDeleteI think most readers will be in accord with your sentiment.
ReplyDeleteYou know Christian, I think it will be fun watching you struggle to fit the WoD NPCs into each issue. Might be fun for us. :)
ReplyDeleteRules-Lite baby!
Btw, I got my copies of issue 1 & 2 yesterday and quickly read through them. Very well done and I look forward to the next installment!
Awesome! I have something else to send out to you next week.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you're back in the States. :)
