Loviatar No. 2 Progress Report: Stat Blocking

Farrine the Bard is coming together.
Work has begun on Loviatar No. 2. I am currently working on the stat blocks for three NPCs in one of the articles. I like to do all stat blocks manually. I feel that taking the time to read through the feats, skills and class abilities really helps me to get a better sense of the NPC I am writing about. In this sense, crunching stat blocks is definitely part of the creative process.

In the days of Scrollworks I used to have a guy who checked all of my stat blocks for errors. I have been thinking about advertising for another such fellow to make sure everything adds up just so.

  1. Yeah, the one downside to 3.X D&D, it feels more like accounting than gaming.

  2. Something I appreciate about 4e is that NPCs are no longer built like PCs. They're more like monsters, which makes prep much easier.

  3. I know I am late to this party, but I brought the three dollar cover charge and ready to get down with it. Hmm, kinda sounds like something Herb Tarlick would say from WKRP in Cincinnati.

Crap I posted as Ivy again. This is Tim.

  5. Hello Ivy, Tim and Tim-as-Ivy!

Better late than early when it comes to a zine, I think. Zines have an awful lot of hitches in the giddy-up early on, so if you arrive a bit late you avoid all that. :)
